MAIN AIMS
a) To provide quality care to Service Users in a manner which will maximise their quality of life.
b) To deliver care that is consistent with Service Users’ individual care plans.
SPECIFIC DUTIES
To provide directly and through team working, quality personalised care to Service Users within their home environment, whilst at all times maximising the Service Users independence, dignity and quality of life within safe working practices and guidelines.
Principal Responsibilities
1. To comply with the company policies, procedures and guidelines at all times.
2. To assist and motivate Service Users who need help with getting up/going to bed, dressing, undressing, washing, bathing and using the toilet.
3. To help Service Users with mobility problems and other physical disabilities, including incontinence and help in the use and care of aids and personal equipment.
4. To care for Service Users who are temporarily sick and needing, for example, minor dressings, bed nursing, help with feeding, etc.
5. To provide compassionate care to Service Users who are terminally ill.
6. To help in the promotion of mental and physical activity of Service Users through talking to them, taking them out, sharing with them in activities such as reading, writing, hobbies and recreations.
7. To make and change beds; tidy rooms; do light cleaning and empty commodes.
8. To inspect, launder and undertake simple mending of Service Users’ clothing.
9. To set table and trays; serve meals; feed Service Users who need help; prepare light meals and wash up; tidy and clear the dining areas.
10. To answer the telephone, the door and greet visitors.
11. To read and write reports, and take part in staff and Service Users’ meetings and in training activities as directed.
12. To report to the designated manager any changes in the health or circumstances of a service user.
13. To encourage Service Users to remain as independent as possible.
14. To laise with other agencies, family members/carers as required.
15. To perform such other duties as may reasonably be required
Job Types: Part-time, Permanent
Part-time hours: 22.5 per week
Salary: £10.42 per hour
