Support Worker required in Wolverhampton
We are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic brain injury rehabilitation support worker to provide support for a gentleman with an acquired brain injury, a visual impairment and some cognitive difficulties to live an independent and active life.
Full and part-time positions are available, to be worked across a seven-day week, to include days, nights (sleep-ins) and weekends. You may also be required to help with providing cover during periods of annual leave and sickness among the team.
Duties include prompting and supporting the client with personal care, as well as identifying and accessing a range of leisure activities in and around the local community, and implementing interventions recommended by a range of therapy professionals involved with the client’s care. You will be responsible for the safety and wellbeing of the client while promoting his independence and social skills.
Experience of working with people with an acquired brain injury is essential, as is an ability to motivate others and promote independence. Candidates will need to have flexibility in their approach, a commitment to social inclusion and an enhanced DBS clearance. A full driving licence is also essential. An outgoing and fun personality would be desirable, as well as an interest in trains, rugby, music and movies.
Job Type: Full-time and part-time
Rate of Pay: £14.00p/h on weekdays; £15.50p/h at weekends
Sleep-in shift rates - £115.00
Support workers will be expected to attend meetings and supervision as required outside of their usual working hours.
