Support Worker Sheffield, England

Bluebell Wood Children's Hospice
Full Time Sheffield, England 22436 - 23809 GBP ANNUAL Today
Job description

At Bluebell Wood, we care for babies, children and young people with a vast range of conditions and technology dependence, alongside their families. This means our care team need to be as skilled and competent as hospital-based colleagues. Support workers play a big role in our model of care – we’re proud to be a nurse-led, interdisciplinary Care Team. Bluebell Wood is a great place to truly be able to care for and get to know children and families, while having the chance to develop specialist skills in children’s palliative care, including clinical and communication skills.

Our vision is to make every day the best it can be for children and families in our care, helping them to live fulfilling lives full of love and laughter, and to support them in making magical memories in our hospice and the community – at home, at school or wherever a family need us. As a Bluebell Wood care support worker, you’ll have the opportunity to get involved in all of this. We work hard, innovate, create and go the extra mile every day to make this happen. You can read all our staff stories here; including Amanda’s.

Amanda came to work at Bluebell Wood 11 years ago. She says:

“I’m incredibly proud to wear my purple Bluebell Wood T-shirt and I’m passionate about the work we do here. Care in a children’s hospice is very different to anywhere else. At Bluebell Wood we’re able to spend quality time with children and families, without having the constant ward pressures you might encounter elsewhere. We’re able to form those meaningful relationships with families and we’re very much led by their individual needs. This is what nursing is all about for me”.

We are a team of skilled and dedicated care professionals with the drive to make an exceptional difference to the lives of those we support. If this sounds like you, then we’d love to hear from you.
