Job description
We are looking for a Support Worker to join the growing newly commissioned integrated Op COURAGE Veterans Mental Health + Wellbeing Service. This service covers the East part of the South-East region (Berks, Bucks, Oxon, Hants and Isle of Wight). Within Op Courage we work with military veterans to identify and address psychosocial and practical needs by supporting veterans to connect with appropriate services. We offer psychological therapy to veterans with mental health needs such as PTSD, depression and moral injury. Working collaboratively as part of the Op COURAGE service, the post holder will support the referrals/triage process, providing support to service users, working alongside clinicians, offering support, advice and encouragement drawing on experience of working in mental health/social care sector. This may include support to carers (including friends and relatives) and their supporters in the community, enabling service users to work towards personal recovery goals, and facilitating engagement with NHS, military charities, and non-statutory services. This is a permanent post and the post holder will be equipped to work across the region. There are opportunities for flexible working. A car driver with access to a car is essential.
