We'd like you to join us as a Support Worker at our Nottingham Brain Injury Rehabilitation and Neurological Care Centre, located in Hucknall on the outskirts of Nottingham.
We specialise in the treatment, care and support of individuals with physical and cognitive impairments as a result of brain injury or other progressive neurological condition.
We have three interconnecting units: Millwood, Fernwood and Rosewood providing three distinct, yet complementary services on one site, we offer flexible care options from our specialist on-site team with amazing facilities including Physiotherapy gymnasium, Therapy kitchens, Activities Room, Sensory room and a Minibus for appointments and fun outings!
What you'll be working:
We work on a 12 hour rota - part time can be considered but this would be a half shift either morning or late afternoon.
We can consider various numbers of shifts per week to support a work life balance.
What you'll be doing:
- A genuine interest in providing the best person centre care possible for our young people
- Build relationships with patients, which are open and two way
- Support patients to undertake their rehabilitation programme
- Establish methods of communication with patients, reducing barriers when necessary
- Assist patients with mealtimes where necessary
- Support with activities of daily living and personal care when needed
- Communicate any issues to the clinical team
- Accurately report and/or record work activities
What you'll have:
- The ability to communicate effectively at all levels
- Experience working within the care sector / mental health would be an advantage but not essential
Full Training is provided along with a comprehensive induction
