Our Support Workers work in a variety of settings including community-based services (often supporting people in their own homes) to our Treatment & Recovery Centres.

One thing that is common across all of our services is a focus on personalised support and tailoring our services to the needs and aspirations of the people we support with a diverse range of care needs (including Learning Disabilities, Physical Disabilities, Mental Health Concerns, Complex Care, Substance Misuse issues to name a few).

About you…

  • have flexibility to work a varied shift pattern to provide 24-hour support

We don’t ask for any other relevant training or a previous career in care as full training will be provided – you just need a willingness to learn and develop.

Your pay - between 1st April 2023 and 31st March 2024, our Support Workers will receive a rate equivalent to £11.00 per hour for all worked hours. This will be made up of the National Living Wage rate of £10.42 per hour - plus between 1st April 2023 and 31st March 2024 you will receive an additional top-up in your hourly rate for any worked hours of £0.58 – this will take your total hourly equivalent for all worked hours to £11.00 per hour – Our top-up payments are made in arrears.

Where is this vacancy based?
This vacancy is based in Liverpool.

Who do you support?
Currently we support 8 individuals, with various mental health diagnosis. From Emotionally Unstable Personality Disorder to Acquired Brain Injury, from Schizoaffective Disorder.

All people supported in the service, like 1:1 activities in the community

Where do they live?
This service is 9 bedded mental health service. Liverpool City Council are the commissioner.

The 9 flats in this service are all self contained with a roomy living area, kitchen, bathroom and own bedrooms.

What would a typical shift be like?
During the day it can be a busy day.

Normally start off with a shift handover, then we start to focus on the administration of medication to ensure the people we support are managing their conditions.

We also support a number of individuals with their finances, so support staff have to ensure that the people supported are adhering to their budget plans.

Medication is administered throughout the day, as well as supporting individuals out in the community - this could be for medical appointments, shopping, hospital appointments.

What activities do the people that we support at this property like to do?
Walking in the community into Liverpool City Centre, shopping in the local area, reassurance and support for medical/hospital appointments

Experience with self-harming behaviours


What is the team here or is it lone-working?
No lone working, waking night shift, sleep in shift

What are your shift patterns?
08:00-22:00 11:00-22:00 08:00-16:00 14:00-22:00 22:00-08:00 Waking Night 22:00-08:00 Sleep In

Must be able to complete shift work as part of a rolling rota - including weekends, and includes sleep nights.
