When threats go digital, so do we.
Counter Terrorism Policing (CTP) keeps the nation and everyone in it safe from all manner of threats. Those are evolving all the time, as is the way we tackle them. This is your chance to become a crucial part of the UK’s counter terrorism capability, as you apply your skills not just to supporting our existing estate, but also to enhancing our digital footprint.
You’ll join a small team of experienced staff and officers who work closely to deliver services to the command, with a focus on digital investigations. It will see you draw on your rounded IT skillset to look after a full stack estate of hardware, servers, network, storage, and applications supporting to National Digital Exploitation Service. You’ll also support the user base, identifying any issues and resolving them.
We’ll look to you to make sure that the estate is operational and functioning as it should. That will include ensuring that it’s correctly patched and secure, and performing backups, upgrades and changes when needed. In addition, you’ll contribute to bespoke projects designed to improve CT capability. This team is part of an innovation group, so you can expect to play a part in the evolution of the estate and what it can do.
As well as experience in ICT support or a similar environment, you’ll have very good foundational skills and be happy to work as part of a team. It’s important that you’re willing to learn too — the estate is evolving all the time, so you’ll have every opportunity to develop along with it. We’re currently looking at expanding into the cloud, so any expertise would be useful.
Since you will have On Call responsibilities after training, you’ll need a flexible approach to providing onsite IT support. The role is mainly office-based to respond to critical issues that could affect business as usual, though there will be opportunities for you to work from home.
In return, you can look forward to benefits including substantial annual leave, Civil Service pension arrangements, interest free season ticket loans, flexible working conditions and more.
