Applause IT are seeking an Infrastructure Support Technician to work for a metal distribution company who provide aluminium profiles and steel & stainless-steel tubes. Their custom services work to aid in their client's business process, either through their distribution, advice, stock management, design assembly or finishing services.
As Infrastructure Support Technician, you will be working to provide technical support to both internal and external users, ensuring that the IT systems and supporting infrastructure are consistently running smoothly. Your main responsibilities will look at the troubleshooting and resolving of issues that relate to the software, hardware and connectivity of the systems. You will possess excellent communication skills that will allow you to effectively collaborate with other IT teams in the business to develop and implement IT solutions to any issues that have arisen. This skill will also be utilised in your customer-focused incident management. The Infrastructure Support Technician will oversee proactive system monitoring, deliver to expectations, conduct system administration, troubleshoot & remediate 2nd line issues and administer continuous improvement.
The Infrastructure Support Technician will have experience with the following:
- Virtualisation (VMWare)
- 3 years' experience in an enterprise-level system support environment
- Microsoft Windows Server and Services (Active Directory, RDS, GPO, Hybrid Exchange 2016, DNS, DHCP, File & Print)
- Cloud infrastructure (AWS or Azure)
- ITIL related service desk
- Backup and high availability (Veeam, SRM, Zerto)
- Hardware (Cisco UCS, SAN - Nimble, HP)
- PowerShell scripting / automation
- ERP software application
- Mitel phone systems
You should also possess the following professional skills:

- Customer services
While not essential, it would be desirable for you to have a relevant IT Certification.
