Job description
We are looking for an Engineering Support Technician to join our Engineering Lab team.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
- This position will be working with engineering support technicians on the Harness & Rework (prototyping team) alongside test technicians & Electrical Engineering Techs in our HQ EE Lab.
- You will partner and support the Dev, Design, Mechanical, & Electrical engineers in bringing to life designs and prototype builds while troubleshooting Anduril’s different Hardware.
- Validate builds via conformance testing, and fabricate small quantities of electro-mechanical assemblies for R&D purposes.
- Conduct repairs and reworks of PCBAs and cable harnesses/assemblies during engineering tests.
- Aid in design and build prototype bench builds, test racks, and utilize test equipment to perform tests with the guidance of an engineer.
- Use measuring devices such as ohmmeters, voltmeters, clamp meters, for engineering tests & conformance checks.
- Procure and source electrical components under the direction of engineers
- Perform production level electronic builds per industry standards (IPC 7711/ IPC 610) with great attention to detail.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum 5 years experience as a technician working in a prototype/ EE development lab environment.
- Ability to read and understand complex PCBA schematics, cable assembly drawings, and test procedures, without the need to have detailed assembly instructions.
- Experience with building and troubleshooting prototype electro-mechanical hardware, such as PCBAs, cables and wiring harnesses, and electro-mechanical assemblies (drones, vehicles, or eq.).
- Familiar and comfortable with standard electrical prototyping processes, such as PCBA rework
- Extensive prototyping experience: Soldering, crimping, assembling cables to IPC Standards.
- Strong knowledge of electrical components & connectors, familiar with basic hand tools and crimping equipment.
- Familiar and comfortable with written electrical schematics / designs
- Basic electrical understanding and understanding of fundamental electrical concepts.
- Familiarity with basic electrical test equipment (DMM, Scopes)
- U.S. Person status is required as this position needs to access export controlled data
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Strong understanding of PCBs, PCBAs, prototyping and assembly techniques
- Experience with Rapid Harness / Jira / Harnessing Software
- Associate level degree in electronics/electrical assembly or equivalent
- Able to hand solder per J-STD / IPC 7711 Cert.
- Wire harness experience in accordance with IPC-A-620 standards.
- Willing to work overtime, and weekends, as needed.
- Ability to lift a minimum of 25 lbs. Unassisted.
