- The Mission of the Clerk of Courts has a high degree of public accountability, regular attendance and punctuality is an essential function of this position.
- Support and comply with the Mission Statement and Code of Conduct of the Clerk of Courts.
- Maintain a high standard relating to professional conduct and behavior.
- Work cooperatively with other employees of the work unit and embrace a teamwork approach to completing tasks.
- Perform data entry for criminal cases by indexing documents that have been scanned or electronically filed into the case management system and follow up with appropriate case action using coded data.
- Review and interpret court memorandums for accuracy. Request corrections as needed.
- Perform data entry related to payment due date, financial assessments, court date continuances, adjudications, sentences, motions and orders.
- Prepare and process paperwork and respond in writing to various parties such as attorneys, lien holders, and bond agents.
- Process court ordered suspension of driver’s license.
- Prepare and electronically file judgment, sentence, and state prison documents.
- Prepare and record lien documents.
- Scan and record judgment packets into Official Records.
- Answer incoming telephone calls by assisting internal and external customers professionally and with accurate information.
- Being able to work in a constant state of alertness and safe manner.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Graduate of an accredited high school or possess an acceptable equivalency diploma.
- Ability to work cooperatively as a team member with other employees of the work unit and with outside agencies.
- Ability to communicate with people from varied backgrounds.
- Ability to acquire or have knowledge of current procedures to accomplish tasks within areas of department’s overall operation and workflow.
- Ability to organize, prioritize and manage work to meet necessary time requirements and workload.
- Ability to apply policies and procedures as they relate to job tasks.
- Ability to operate a PC and/or mainframe and related software applications. Proficiency in use of Word and/or Excel.
- Ability to accurately type 30 WPM.
- Ability to maintain attention to detail and to remain calm in an anxious, intense environment.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Ability to communicate professionally in both oral and written form. Must be able to read and write English.
- Ability to cover work of other employees to ensure deadlines are met.
