Within Pathways, we have a growing IT team of 70 IT Professionals, spread across the country, which manages and supports most of our 320+ offices remotely by utilizing our corporate WAN and a strong set of enterprise software systems and tools. Work is supported via a hybrid approach or mix of working from both home and in the office.
We have an immediate opening for an IT Support Specialist in our Pottsville, PA location. Responsibilities include overseeing and providing IT support to all of our operations in Pennsylvania (78 offices/Homes). These responsibilities are shared with 4 others in PA and 6 others outside PA that support all the other states that make up the North IT region. The IT Support Specialist is under the direction of the IT Regional Director or IT Support Team Lead. The IT Support Specialist position is identified as “employee class” and full-time status. The pay range for this position is $40k to $50k.
Summary
The IT Support Specialist is primarily responsible for 2nd and 3rd level direct end-user support involving computer/networking hardware, off-the-shelf standardized software systems and various business applications. Support is provided remotely and in person, depending on the support location. This position provides administrative/organizational services supporting both local and national team operations. The ideal candidate will not only have end-user support experience, but also consistently operate in a detail-oriented manner and maintain a well-organized work environment. Other duties include support for IT-related and physical systems, e.g., security and telephony.
Qualifications
- 2-year Technical or Associate's degree or equivalent work experience required
- Some travel may be required, by both plane and car. Occasional nights and/or weekends can be part of the work schedule for 'special projects'.
- Strong oral and written communication skill
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Microsoft or other certifications relating to IT and Information Systems, e.g., directed MCP’s
- Experience working in a health care related field
- Experience working in a multi-national and multicultural environment
Duties
- Provide 2nd and 3rd Level end-user support by troubleshooting hardware issues with workstations, server shares, networking, and other computer peripherals (LAN and WAN)
- Provide 2nd and 3rd Level end-user support in troubleshooting software problems for operating systems, software applications, including various software utilities and some custom systems
- Manage and track detailed Active Directory computer accounts according to policies and procedures and support user accounts
- Install, configure, and upgrade hardware/software on workstations and peripherals
- Identify, research, and resolve technical problems
- Respond to phone calls, emails, and personnel requests for technical support in a timely manner
- Document, track, and monitor issues to ensure timely resolution
- Assist in setup/maintenance of IT-related items in company offices around the state
- Provide operational maintenance support and vendor management of infrastructure items that affect/involve IT, e.g., phone systems, alarm systems, cabling, electrical, internet connectivity, HVAC, copier, printer, and fax systems
- Travel is required, by both plane and car. On occasion, nights and weekends will be part of the work schedule for special projects.
QUALIFICATIONS
- 2-year Technical or Associate's degree or equivalent work experience required
- 1-3 years of additional relevant experience required
