The IT Support Specialist will troubleshoot computer/software problems and research causes/solutions under the guidance and direction of the IT Manager. The Specialist should work well with others and the environment with a solid work ethic to complete all tasks while complying with internal and external requirements in order to help achieve department goals.
Responsibilities:
- Assists the IT Manager with the installation of workstations, networking equipment, and server solutions
- Computer repairs, including hardware replacement, operating system reinstalls, virus/malware removal and other computer tasks as needed
- Verify functionality of hardware and software components
- Provides employees with basic help-desk support and troubleshooting via phone, email, in-person, remote support software and the online support ticket system
- Maintains the neatness and organization of stored supplies and workbench area
- Assist with special projects
Requirements:
- Associates Degree in Computer Science or related field, or 1-2 years related work experience preferred
- Passion for IT and providing helpdesk support
- Ability to meet deadlines and manage stress effectively in high-pressure situations
- Understanding of IT principles and an ability to communicate technical concepts effectively to a varied audience
- Strong sense of discretion and confidentiality required
- Ability to independently multi-task and manage time efficiently
- Exhibits excellent customer service skills and professionalism
- Exhibits excellent problem-solving skills
- Have working knowledge of Microsoft Windows / Office, iOS / Android devices
- Superior communication skills, both verbal and written
- Regularly required to: talk, hear, type, stand or sit for long periods of time. The employee may be required to push, pull or lift 35 lbs or more
- May be required to travel in and out of state overnight
- Required to work Core Business Hours 8-5 PM and occasionally outside of core hours on special projects
