Our fun-loving active young adult client with CP is looking for a sociable Bank Support Worker who would love to join her on trips to the theatre and other social activities. Our client is known for her spontaneity so there will never be a dull moment!
The Role:
  • You will be joining an existing team in this Bank role position to help care support for T who has Cerebral Palsy. T lives independently but close to her family.
  • You will support T in enabling her to attend activities and outings whilst also helping her explore new activities and developing new skills.
  • Our client is a wheelchair user who lives independently with her partner and small family dog.
  • Help with personal care along with household tasks and cooking will be an integral part of the role as well as assistance with administration, communication, and emotional support.

About You:
  • You must be a driver with legal age or over for insurance purposes as you will drive our client’s adapted automatic vehicle
  • Ideally, you will have some Support Work/Care experience but more important is your attitude and aptitude for the job as full training will be provided.
  • You will be a reliable, patient, energetic and have a happy disposition with a fun-loving personality.
  • You will have a positive and empathetic attitude to working with a person with additional needs and supporting her whilst helping to maintain her routines, explore new activities and develop new skills.
  • You will be someone who can be flexible in your approach and respond to changes in her emotional and physical needs and have good communication skills, in particular in developing and supporting communication.
  • You will need to follow our client’s care and support plans and help to implement her training and therapy programmes.
The family have a pet dog so you must be comfortable working in a role where they will be around and not suffer from any pet allergies.

Pay:
  • £14 per hour weekdays
  • £16 per hour weekends

Job Details:
  • This role has a pension scheme.
  • A winter work allowance is also payable – this includes an allowance towards your petrol costs commuting to the workplace of up to £50 pr month (45p per mile) and a £5 meal voucher when you work a 12 hour shift.

Bank Shifts:
Possible shifts are shown below
Mon to Fri: 8 am to 8 pm (12 hours)
Sat (2-3 per month): 9 am to 4 pm (7 hours)
