Job overview
The post holder will work within the directorate of Emergency and Urgent Care. Working along side an operational team of including Directorate Manager, Assistant Directorate Managers and another Directorate Support Manager the post holder will work closely with other members of the multi disciplinary team to ensure safe timely and effective service delivery.
- This post will support the safe, timely and effective delivery of Emergency and Urgent Care services.
- To assist the directorate in the development and implementation of policy, business planning, business objectives and service developments.
- Assist service leads in meeting performance management requirements of the services, including Patient Flow, Sickness & Absence, quality and activity targets.
- To undertake specific project work as identified by the directorate team.
- Ensuring medical and administration staff adhere to Attendance policy and Special Leave, monitoring sickness & absence of staff, conducting return to works, and formal sickness reviews in line with Trust Policy and all other HR policies.
Main duties of the job
- Ensure staff are compliant with mandatory training and take necessary action for those not compliant.
- Line managing multiple staff members
- Produce Business Plans as and when required, chasing these up to timescales and deadlines.
- Attend relevant meetings with directorate and clinical teams when required.
- Assist in the investigation of complaints/incidents/PALS
- Liaising and working with multiple external stakeholders

Qualifications
Essential criteria
- Business administration qualification, eg, NVQ 3
- Evidence of continuing professional development
Experience
Essential criteria
- Previous experience of problem solving skills.
- Experienced user of all Patient Administration and Clinical Systems
Desirable criteria
- Previous experience of working with clinical teams to support understanding of RTT and cancer rules
- Previous Experience line managing staff
Skills and Knowledge
Essential criteria
- Ability to work under pressure, to tight deadlines and with frequent interruptions
- Ability to analyse and interpret complex data
- Knowledge of PAS (Patient Administration System) or other similar systems
Desirable criteria
- Knowledge of a detailed understanding of patient flow
