Support Engineer London, England

Royal Borough of Greenwich
Full Time London, England 33351 - 34341 GBP ANNUAL Today
Job description

Support Engineer
Royal Greenwich is proud to be a borough synonymous with first class modern services. A world heritage site, our communities are vibrant and diverse, and we pride ourselves on being a well-managed and well-run authority.

We have also recently published our first digital strategy. To make that strategy into a reality, we need to hire a new digital, data and technology team to join our existing skill set.

In your role as Support Engineer, you’ll play a key part in our application support function, which is driven by outstanding customer service. You’ll provide desk-side and remote support to our 4000 office, home and remote workers. By supporting staff in the use of end user applications, platforms and hardware, you will help keep the organisation online, allowing us to deliver important services to our residents. Our digital strategy demonstrates the need for a modern support function which is always data and user-focused, and you will help make this a reality.

Using your ability to develop practical and creative solutions to technical issues, you will deliver a high quality, user-centred focused service to our staff. You’ll also be part of our wider support function, working with the service desk, mobile support and infrastructure teams to solve complex problems.

We’re looking for kind, efficient people who like to work in a team and who will go out of their way to support their colleagues and the staff that they serve. You should be a positive person who likes to solve problems and develop yourself.

You should already be working in a technology support function or similar role, with some knowledge of hardware and application support and maintenance.

This is a great opportunity to join a thriving and passionate team. In return, we offer a range of benefits which include:

  • Annual Season Ticket Loan
  • Learning and development opportunities to maximise your potential, including excellent apprenticeship opportunities at all levels
  • Reduced rate Gym Membership
  • Eyecare Vouchers
  • Cycle to Work scheme
  • Long Service Awards
  • Generous Annual Leave entitlement and
  • Excellent Pension Scheme
  • GreenwichCard which entitles you to discounts at local businesses
  • Employee Assistance Scheme including external counselling service
  • A range of flexible working arrangements
  • Staff networks
