What is the role?
The Azure Support Engineer provides 3rd-line Azure and some hardware support focusing on Service Delivery and Security.
You will have extensive experience with Azure IaaS cloud technologies and can work in a highly skilled team and provide operational support to our hosted Clients. You will also mentor the Operations Engineer, providing guidance and support to our EUDs.
You'll drive technical excellence, share your skills and knowledge with the team, and engage in steering technical direction.
The role is full-time with a hybrid work model based in our office in Manchester with 1 to 2 days in the office.
Responsibilities:
- Ability to build a deep understanding of the services provided to the Clients and perform high-level root-cause analysis for service interruption recovery and creating preventive measures.
- Good understanding of software development and maintenance lifecycles.
- Experience working in ITIL-based support environments.
- Implement and adhere to security policies and practices to protect our cloud environments and ensure governance and compliance of our network security, data and services are met.
- Experience with everyday support systems in Azure Environment such as monitoring, network security, troubleshooting, etc.

- Strong Microsoft Azure experience in the following areas:
- Azure Active Directory
- Azure OMS and Log Analytics
- Virtual Machines
- Azure Automation
- Azure Recovery Vaults
- Storage (Managed/Unmanaged disks, BLOB etc.)
- Network Security Groups
- Gateways (Application, VPN)
- Infrastructure
- Microsoft Windows Server
- Powershell scripting
- If you are Microsoft Azure certified, that is great, but if you have relevant experience, that is also great.
- Interpersonal & Relationship management skills are essential.
- Strong time management skills and the ability to respond well to time pressure and deadlines.
- Demonstrate resilience and the ability to influence and collaborate with internal teams whilst under client pressure.
