We have a vacancy to start in October for a Supply Chain porter joining our existing team at York.
Based at York hospital, applicants must have a can do attitude, manual handling skills are required for this busy role. This role assists the Materials Management Officers within the procurement team.
The role of a Supply Chain Porter is to unpack stock into the busy wards, and departmental based storerooms. It also involves cleaning the storage units.
This role gives time back to busy nursing staff, so that they can spend more time with the people that really matter - the patients.The role can be busy with tight timescales, to ensure our nursing teams have sufficient stock at all times. You'll be supported by a wider team of friendly colleagues, and by a department that believes in encouraging staff to build their skills through work-based and e-learning.The role requires some physical effort (moving cages, boxes and parcels) and periods of mental effort (concentration required when checking goods against documentation and when counting and calculating stock). You must be able to work as part of a team but also use on your own initiative where required.
