Job description
The role of Supply Chain Planner ensures full and consistent availability of assigned categories of consumables (i.e. ink and media) with efficient cost management.
Reporting into the Forecast Manager, the Supply Chain Planner receives forecasts and based on these approved forecasts, plans appropriate stock levels. This will ensure stock is in the right place, at the right time, to facilitate the business to maximize sales and optimize working capital.
This role is based at our sales and marketing offices in Hemel Hempstead, UK with the opportunity to work from home 3 days per week.
What you will do:
Supply Management EMEAR:
- Analyse, monitor and track availability versus demand on relevant category
- Ensure stock level is optimised at multiple warehouses as per agreed variables (DOS and demand forecast)
- Analyse and suggest amendments to those variables based on data trends
- Convert the monthly sales forecast given by Forecast Planners into an inbound requirement
- Proactively check for potential stock shortages in the coming months, not just the current situation, suggesting air freight or expedition of inbound where appropriate
- Plan reconfiguration or rework of stock as required
- Report daily on current stock shortages and advise the wider business of future issues
Synchronise Activities End to End:
- Purchase Order creation to Epson manufacturers and 3rd party vendors
- Monitor the end to end supply chain (from receiving forecast to delivering to customer) and highlight exceptions or concerns to relevant stakeholder or inform manager for action. Prepare for and participate in monthly inventory, forecast and weekly purchase review meetings
- Upload inbound requirement and forecast into internal planning system in a timely manner
- Engage multiple teams across the business to ensure new SKUs launch without issue
- Liaise with the business to manage the depletion of stock towards obsolescence)
What we ask for:
- Supply chain planning or logistics background
- Prior use of SAP advantageous
- Strong analytical skills
- Proactive “hands on” approach
- Good communication skills including presenting data to internal stakeholders
- Understanding of commercial elements and their influence on operations
- Strong Excel skills
