Purchasing / Supply Chain Internship Opportunity
We have an excellent opportunity for a proactive and keen individual who is looking for a workplace experience and a career in procurement or supply chain profession.
Successful candidate will be taking on a project of understanding our current inbound freight process and really shaking things up by proposing improvements and making tangible savings. You will have the opportunity to make a real difference to the business and gain valuable hands-on experience in a professional, highly driven, knowledgeable and supportive team.
You will be mentored by one of our experienced Senior Buyers and working on mapping our supply chain. You will be identifying our current inbound freight process, process wastes and proposing improvements using lean methodology. You with then have the opportunity to put improvement proposals forward and participate in tendering transport solutions, quote analysis and bid summary, contractual terms and conditions negotiations and sourcing recommendations.
Qualifications
We are looking for candidates working towards at least a Level 5 (NVQ / Diploma / HND or Foundation Degree) qualification or equivalent in supply chain, procurement or logistics discipline.
Essential skills and experience also include:
- Excellent computer literacy skills including Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook to intermediate level.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Resilient and able to stay calm under pressure.
- Flexible and adaptable approach to work.
- Ability to work well and collaborate across various levels within the business and outside.
- Experience of collaborative project work, negotiating and creative problem solving.
- Knowledge of supply chain and procurement principles, ideally lean methodology
- Excellent mathematical reasoning and analytical skills.
- Creative thinking and problem solving skills.
We offer competitive salary and benefits including:
- £21,000 per annum basic salary.

- 37.5 hours per week, Mon-Thu 08.30-17.00, Fri 08.30-14.00
