Job description

Heroes buys, operates, and scales baby and juvenile brands.

We are ambitious multi-brand developers combining operational excellence with customer-centricity to support parents and children through every milestone of their journey. Built by a team with a background in investment banking, venture capital, and D2C eCommerce, we have the right experience to nurture and grow brands and develop products that simplify, support, and enrich everyday family experiences.

At Heroes, we leave our egos behind, get our hands dirty, and push through obstacles to get things over the finish line. If this sounds like you, you should join us.

The role

The Supply Chain Director leads the Supply Chain department and reports directly to co-founder Alessio Bruni. This role is pivotal in driving the strategy to ensure that we can service our customers globally with world-class stock availability at the best possible price, enabled by leading efficiency in transport and logistics.

As a business that grows predominantly through M&A, the Supply Chain department is one of the most complex department, managing close to 40 brands and thousands of products across North America, Europe, Asia, and the Pacific. In this role you will be challenged to think about increasing efficiency, reducing transportation and logistics costs, while maintaining 99% stock availability. You need to be extremely comfortable working with numbers and driving analytical thinking.

You'll work closely with our Commercial, Finance, and Legal & Regulatory teams to monitor and drive performance, as well as building strong, long-term relationships with external service providers.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and coach a dynamic and hands-on team both in the UK and around the world to operate a world-class Supply Chain function
  • Oversee and manage the entire supply chain including Freight, Customs, Logistics, Warehousing, Inventory Management, Distribution, Fulfillment, and S&OP and Continuous Improvement
  • Strive to meet and beat KPI's to deliver the "North Star" stock availability objective
  • Implement processes and controls to drive step-change efficiency, cost reduction, and lead times improvements
  • Own and establish logistics provider relationships in transport, freight and warehousing. Proactively drive our service providers to deliver best-in-class cost and service level performance
  • Develop the Supply Chain strategy and roadmap planning for doubling our order volume while maintaining the cost base stable
  • Implement and keep nurturing a data-driven mindset in the team, to ensure decisions are KPI-led
  • Lead the supply chain due-diligence process for new acquisitions, working closely with Investments, Legal & Regulatory, Commercial, and Sourcing to ensure a total view of the supply chain is delivered
  • Work closely with the Executive Team on overall company strategy

About you

  • 10 years+ in supply chain, transport and logistics, in either retail or consumer goods
  • Extensive experience of developing and managing logistics service provider commercial relationships
  • Practical experience of physical components of international supply chains
  • Exposure to Amazon and other marketplaces, as well as DTC and B2B channels
  • Practical experience of customs in UK, EU, US
  • Deeply analytical and data-driven mindset
  • High bias for action, with an obsession to make progress over perfection
  • Ability to work collaboratively at all levels across multiple teams
  • People centric leader with proven track-record of building and coaching high-performing teams
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, with a passion to dive deep to understand root causes and ability to effectively break-down complex problems into key components
  • Passion for processes and efficiency improvements, controls, data, performance tracking, technology and automation
  • Comfortable with fast paced decision making, ambiguity and changing priorities
