Supply Chain Coordinator -The Role
Fresh People are currently recruiting for Supply Chain Planner for our Client a Food Distribution Business based in Dartford, Kent. In the role you will be required to assist the Purchasing Managers with all aspects of running an effective supply chain.
The Person
Suitable candidates must have previous FMCG supply chain experience preferably from a food manufacturing environment or have worked within a similar role within the fresh produce industry. Must have good analytical skills and be proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint and Word with SAP knowledge would be an advantage
Key Accountabilities
This role is essential to the smooth running of the business and ensures our teams can deliver the best possible service! Some of your responsibilities will include:
- Managing, monitoring and coordinating a high volume of transactions daily
- Purchasing of branded goods with suppliers such as Heinz, Nestle, Unilever and many more
- Working alongside many departments in the business such as Sales, Transport, Warehouse and Finance to accurately monitor the stock levels.
- Focusing on the inventory levels needed to meet predicted consumer demands
- Building upon already established and new supplier relationships to ensure supply chain supply is met
- Capacity Planning and Stock Monitoring
- Forecast long term demand and availability across suppliers – including seasonal availability and demand
- Implement supply agreements and order process with suppliers
- Collate purchase orders and purchase requisitions in order-to-order materials, goods and supplies
- Review inventories and order as required
- Review deliveries against the orders
- Deal with non-supplied, under orders, over orders and damaged goods
- Research potential vendors, for new range opportunities and price comparisons
- Compare and evaluate offers from suppliers
- Track orders and ensure timely delivery
- Enter order details (e.g. vendors, quantities, prices) into internal databases
- Maintain updated records of purchased products, delivery information and invoices
- Prepare reports on purchases, including cost analyses
- Monitor stock levels and place orders as needed
- Addressing all price variances/queries
- Liaising with the goods in manager on booking in issues
- Setting up of new supplier accounts and maintaining existing account details
- Being first point of contact for all relevant enquiries
- Maintaining strong relationships with suppliers
- Reviewing systems and processes and making improvement suggestions
