Main Purpose
The 48th Civil Engineering Squadron is seeking someone to supervise the Chief of Assistance and Referrals, within the Housing Element. This will involve assisting all eligible members in all matters involving on and off base housing, and ensure maximum usage of housing resources. You will serve as a first level supervisor, providing planning, directing, organizing, and exercising control over nonsupervisory employees. You will plan, organize and direct activities ensuring that housing assistance provided complies with legal and regulatory requirements and meets customer needs. Develop goals and objectives that integrate organization and Housing Management Element objectives and research, interpret and analyze Air Force base instructions, pamphlets, directives, and housing local policies.
Knowledge and Experience Required
Applicants must demonstrate the following:
1. Must have experience supervising employees and an ability to plan, organize and direct
2. Must have experience using a variety of software to perform data entry/retrieval and to produce a variety of products such as spreadsheets, email.
3. Skill in effective oral and written communication and ability to maintain productive and effective working relationships with diverse groups.
4. Professional housing technical certification is desirable.
5. Knowledge of the principles, techniques, and methodology related to the occupancy and termination of government-owned accompanied and unaccompanied quarters.
6. Knowledge of agency housing audit or survey requirements and procedures to perform regular or periodic reviews of local housing management operations.
7. Knowledge of safety and security regulations, practices, and procedures.
8. Skill in interviewing to obtain factual information and to explain housing regulations, relocation assistance, and local procedures to applicants and residents. 9. Ability to plan, organize, and direct the functions and staff of a small to medium sized organization.
Other Important Information
Valid driver’s licence Category B is required for the position.
May be assigned other duties that are commensurate with the grade and skill set of the incumbent.
Position may be coded as mission essential.
Position is on a fixed schedule. Monday – Friday 0800 – 1630.
Must be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
May be required to travel away from normal duty station for TDY or training as directed by management, sometimes on short notice and including overnight stays, travelling by military or commercial aircraft or by any other designated means.
