Job Overview
Provide Supervision under the direction of the Marine Service Manager.
Main Duties
- Provide supervision for all jobs/tasks associated with waterfront services inclusive of admin.
- Acting on behalf of the MSM when on leave.
- Planning and preparing berths for visiting vessels when acting in the absence of the MSM.
- Assisting the MSM in preparing berths.
- Attend meetings with, or in the absence of the MSM.
- Planning and designing lifting plans in relation to all crane tasks, creating the method statement, risk assessments and lifting plan.
- Comply with all relevant safety procedures. In particular, COSHH, Health and Safety at work act and Environmental legislation.
- Assisting with maintenance when and if required.
- Oil pollution / salvage and mooring duties.
- Undertake any additional tasks within his/hers competence as instructed by the MSM.
- On call duties when required.
- Attend all training required by management.
- Assist in the berthing and sailing of vessels when required, including out of hours.
- Assist the MSM with admin duties. Raising SONs and creating FPs on Maximo.
- Adhoc duties within competences in other areas of the contract if required by the business
What we are looking for
Qualifications, Education and experience required:
AP Lifting operations competent card, Red or above.
Health and Safety Managers and Professionals CITB.
Good command of written English.
Good mathematical ability.
IT literate – knowledge in Maximo an advantage.
Experience in working with berthing and sailing large vessels.
Specific qualifications/skills:
STCW 95 qualified.
Slinger / Signaller certified.
RYA powerboat licence.
Oil spill response P4 course Preferable.
Rigging experience.
Training will be given for all the above mentioned under specific qualifications/skills. They are not a requirement but any of the above experiences or skills will be an advantage.
