The Role
Pinnacle Group are looking for a Superintendent to ensure that the internal and external school facilities are available, fully functional, H&S compliant and aesthetically pleasing where this falls within the remit of the caretaking team.

Duties/Key Responsibilities
- Ensuring security integrity of the school buildings and grounds through locking and unlocking, patrols, monitoring third party lettings
- Carry out day-to -day duties according to daily schedule, i.e., litter picking, sweeping, refreshing toilets
- Carry out defined Planned Preventative Maintenance responsibilities in accordance with each school's schedule and individual's skills
- Carry out initial investigations into reactive requests made during the day relating to deficiencies in accommodation and making temporary or permanent repairs or otherwise notifying management of the need to call in a service provider, in accordance with prescribed procedures and timescales
- Respond to emergency situations such as floods, bodily fluids and effecting temporary or permanent rectification in accordance with prescribed procedures and timescales
- Respond to request for collection of parcels, movement of furniture rearrangement of rooms etc in accordance with prescribed procedures and timescales
- Be observant for H&S issues and ensure that they are rectified or made safe and reported to management
- Where appropriate provide access, escort, liaise with and assist service providers on site to undertake remedial work or Planned Prevented Maintenance
- Being proactive by noticing deficiencies in the facilities and either rectifying if within capabilities or bringing the defect to the attention of management
- Any other duties as assigned by management that relate to maintaining the facilities in a clean, functional and aesthetically pleasing state
- Any other duties that are specific to the school being worked in i.e., swimming pool maintenance
- Be flexible in shaft pattern to cover colleagues’ absences due to sickness and annual leave
- Be available for lettings of the premises outside of normal hours with agreement of Senior Site manager
- Minor mechanical i.e. Plug top fuse replacement Failed lamp replacement
- Minor Carpentry i.e. Putting up shelves Re handing doors / Repairing window frames
- Minor Plumbing i.e.Repairs to taps (replaceable washers not cutting) /Cleaning blockages (plunger and or rodding but not high pressure jetting) Gutter and land drain clearing
- Ground Maintenance Duties and Grounds inspections including walkways, internal roads and car parks ensuring they are clear of foreign matter
Skills Required
- Previous School Superintendent / Caretaker experience desirable.
- Range of general handyman skills such as minor plumbing, carpentry, electrical
- Good customer service skills
- Amenable and approachable personality
- Good timekeeping, smart and presentable
- Good knowledge and use of Microsoft Outlook and Excel Documents
- Ability to liaise with and assist external service providers Ability to work in a team
- Ability to multi skill and multi task.
- Willingness to learn new skills and undertake training to develop role
- Flexible and adaptable in approach
- Some IT knowledge preferable to enable communication via email and completion of statutory documentation spreadsheets and the use of smart phones
As this role will involve working in schools, confirmation of appointment will be subject to a completion of a Disclosure Barring Service Check (DBS)
