Join us as a Summer Vacation Front of House Receptionist and be part of our vacation accommodation team.
Commercial Operations at Imperial College London are currently recruiting dedicated summer staff to facilitate our busy summer lettings period. We operate the student bedrooms over the summer vacation as a huge budget hotel (approx. 2300 bedrooms across 2 sites)
As a Summer Vacation Receptionist, you will provide the highest standard of customer care to residential summer guests. You will report to the Summer Vacation Front of House Managers and Vacation Management team.
A flexible approach to working hours is expected as evenings, nights and weekend work will be required during the summer period.
You will be able to work for the whole period of employment as this is an essential requirement to meet operational needs. Holiday pay will be compensated for the hours worked at the end of the fixed term period.
A flexible, motivated, positive and enthusiastic attitude when dealing with people is essential, as is the desire to deliver and achieve the highest standards in customer service. Relevant training will be provided, and attendance is mandatory.
Successful candidates will have the option to live in one of the accommodation halls between 2 July and 24 September. Further information on rent and location will be provided at the interview stage.
Duties and responsibilities
- Assist in the day-to-day operations of the reception area and provision of reception services for one of 4 reception areas
- Efficient check-in and check-out of guests
- Adhere to a wide range of policies, procedures and standards in support of a professional, customer-focused reception service for summer accommodation.
- Ensure the effective allocation of accommodation using KX systems, ensuring all arrivals are allocated correctly.
- Ensure the appearance of the reception is maintained to a high standard at all times and provide residential information and updates to Hall and Cleaning Supervisors.
- Flexible to work at different reception areas according to the operational needs
Essential requirements
- Experience of working in a similar fast paced, busy customer focused environment
- A good command of verbal English
- Ability to work within a team
- Good time management skills
- Excellent IT skills to include Microsoft office
- Ability to exercise initiative
- A flexible approach to working, sufficient to be able to work a 5/7 days per week arrangement, work evenings and weekends, and able to work at any location/catering outlet, as reasonably requested
- Positive and enthusiastic
- Desire to deliver and achieve high standards of service
