Opportunities exist for you in the following functional areas:
Biomedical Ontology
- As part of a bioinformatics team with a diverse skill set you will be able to learn how bioinformatics and ontologies are being used to solve some of the most challenging problems in Drug Discovery. If you have a strong interest in making drug discovery data ‘AI’ ready and to have your work used after completion of your placement, then this will be suitable for you
- Machine Learning (ADG)
- Supporting the Data Science team to drive innovation of new types of analyses and tools at Sanofi. You could be part of developing a revolutionary new tool for in silico antibody discovery and will be of interest to anyone who has a strong interest in leveraging machine learning to address antibody drug-discovery questions
- Bispecific Discovery
- The team is involved in generating bispecific antibodies targeting different proteins present on immune cells to modulate the inflammatory response. You will work on the identification of drug candidates using Sanofi technology and Antibody Discovery Platform. This involves using a wide range of high throughput cell and protein assays to assess functional activity of antibodies
- Bispecific Discovery – Large Molecule Research
- This placement is an opportunity to learn about antibody discovery and assay development. You will learn skills such as tissue culture and flow cytometry, and techniques to perform cell and protein-based screening assays.
- CMC
- An opportunity to join the Protein Purification Development team. You will be able to gain a broad overview of a drug discovery pipeline, interact with members from different groups within the company and gain an array of technical skills. This position will be suitable for a student studying biochemistry and with a keen interest in protein science. The protein purification team supports material supply for all projects within the company so this will provide good exposure into early drug discovery research
About you
Education: You should be post college, either studying for a degree or have completed, preferably in Life Sciences or in a discipline that is relevant to the programmes on offer. We are open to candidate who have not enrolled in an undergraduate course.- Skills: Strong written and oral communication skills, good organisation with attention to details to manage a number of priorities
