Job Description: Teacher
Anglo Ltd offer English summer courses to international students aged 10 to 18 years old. Running for 2 to 8 weeks from June to August, our summer centres are held at selected university campuses across the UK, providing an excellent setting for students to learn English and take part in social activities. Our teaching method is holistic, promoting communication with emphasis on speaking and listening skills.
We are seeking qualified, residential and non-residential EFL Teachers who are innovative, have excellent communication skills and an upbeat attitude. At Anglo Ltd, teachers are responsible for planning and delivering high-quality EFL lessons following a set syllabus. We are looking for individuals who can exploit every opportunity for students to learn and practise English, both inside and outside the classroom. Our teachers are expected to create a positive, organised learning environment, which supports the introduction of elements of British culture as part of the curriculum.
EFL Teachers are responsible for planning and delivering high-quality, EFL lessons following ANGLO syllabus. ANGLO sessions promote the communicative approach with emphasis on speaking and listening skills.
LINE MANAGER: Teaching Manager
Between 9:00 and 18:00 Monday to Friday (up to 8 hours
HOURS: per day, incl. 7 teaching hours and 1 paid planning hour)
REMUNERATION:
Non-residential: £16 per hour + holiday pay. Up to £640 paid weekly (£717.25 incl. holiday pay).
Residential: £14.15 per hour + holiday pay. Up to £566 paid weekly (£634.32 incl. holiday pay), plus free accommodation and full board.
CONTRACT: Temporary, fixed term
PREPARATION: Induction before start of classes
Your role & responsibilities
Depending on the size of your centre, some of these tasks may be delegated to a Workshops and Teaching Supervisor (WTS).
● To liaise with the Teaching Manager and/or WTS with regards to all relevant teaching and student matters
● To teach levels and course types as directed by the TM/WTS, and to plan all classes sufficiently and mark students’ work.
● To select appropriate supplementary materials demonstrating sensitivity to the students’ needs and cultural backgrounds.
● To complete attendance registers accurately and to report any absence or sickness to the TM/WTS at the beginning of each lesson
● To be familiar with, and follow guidelines outlined in the Teacher Manual
● To attend and teacher briefings, meetings and CPD sessions as and when required
● To ensure students are prepared for presentations, excursions, and cultural visits
● To respond to any issues, incidents and or complaints in an appropriate and timely manner; ensuring that the Teaching Manager is informed as required.
● To exploit every opportunity for students to learn English both inside and outside the classroom
● To create a positive learning environment which is well organised and supports the introduction of British culture as part of the curriculum.
● To provide students with adequate feedback on their work
● To accurately complete the students’ weekly academic reports
● To follow ANGLO’s safeguarding and welfare policies at all times
● To demonstrate a high level of professionalism at all times
Your profile
Essential
★ First degree + TEFLi qualification or equivalent experience (e.g.: CELTA, Trinity CertTESOL)
★ Native or near-native English fluency

Desirable
★ Prior experience of teaching U18s
★ Young Learners teaching qualification
★ Summer school experience
★ Experience of project-based courses and/or task-based learning
★ Experience of Trinity GESE exams
