Summer Conference Assistant
We require one full-time Summer Conference Assistant to provide support within the Conference Services team during the summer period. You will be required to provide a first-class service to our conference guests and organisers, helping to ensure that their experience of Goldsmiths is positive, well-organised and runs smoothly. You will also be required to work closely with the department’s Front of House, Housekeeping and Maintenance teams, as well as our summer school partners.
You should be familiar with all MS Office applications, have a high level of literacy and effective communications skills.
The standard hours of work will be 35 hours per week. Weekends and evening work may be included in the 5 days’ work for which time off in lieu will be given at a time agreed with the Conference Services Manager.
You will be reporting to the Conference Services Manager.
Conference Services
Conference Services falls within Estates and Facilities at Goldsmiths. The aim of the department is to generate income for the university through hiring of campus spaces, filming, summer schools and accommodation lets. The Conference team is small, and covers a variety of roles including taking enquiries, selling spaces and services, managing events, risk assessing, to name a few.
Working within the Estates and Facilities – Conference Services, you will be responsible for the smooth running of summer school groups, conference bookings and individual lets; coordinating administrative duties and communicating with other university departments to ensure that all event requirements are met. In addition, you will be assisting with large conference bookings on campus and updating electronic records where necessary.
