Substance Misuse Worker
We are seeking an experienced Substance Misuse practitioner who is skilled in offering targeted support to parents who are struggling with the issue of substance misuse’. The ideal candidate will be compassionate, able to use the DUST screening tool to understand the current levels of need and risk, whilst assessing motivation to change and the impact on caring responsibilities.
You will support parents undergoing assessment to access local specialist services with the aim of addressing the misuse of substances, will be able to work collaboratively with key agencies in order to provide advocacy and support to the client group, as well as being self-motivated and able to lead on all issues in relation to substance misuse.
You will be based within the Specialist Parenting Assessment Team which sits within the Multi-Disciplinary Service which also comprises of the Family Group Conferencing Team, Family Partnership and Adolescent Multi-Disciplinary Team who work collaboratively to offer tailored support to the family during the assessment period.

You will have the following qualifications or a willingness to work towards:
- NVQ4 in Working with families with multiple and complex needs
- Child Protection Level 2
- Degree in a relevant discipline (or demonstratable relevant experience of working with substance misuse service users).
This role is subject to an Enhanced DBS check.
