Serco has an exciting opportunity for Substance Misuse Advisor to work from home for Public health England
Substance Misuse Adviser primary role is to provide information on all aspects of substance misuse to the general public via telephone helpline and promote key messages on risk reduction as defined by Public Health England client. You will signpost service users to appropriate services for their needs and assist them beyond any barriers in accessing these services.
What you’ll need to do the role:
As our ideal candidate, you will be someone that has previously worked in a call or contact centre environment. You'll be passionate about delivering great customer-service and want to work in an inclusive team.
You will need at least 6 months’ experience of actively working within a role that included the provision of information, advice, and support face to face and/or over the telephone in relation to health, mental health, alcohol, drugs and/or smoking, for example:
Health Promotion
Smoking Cessation Adviser
Drug or alcohol worker
Education/Youth work
General health/mental health
OR a health, psychology, social care and/or substance misuse related qualification such as:
HNC/HND in a relevant subject related to health/health promotion or Nursing diploma/degree, CQSW/ Diploma Social Work or relevant degree such as: Psychology, Health Science, Social Sciences, Health Promotion, Education or
A recognized Counselling diploma
A relevant post graduate higher qualification e.g., a MSc in Counselling, Health Education/ Promotion, Public Health
Qualification in drugs, alcohol, or tobacco studies/smoking cessation
The aforementioned list is not exhaustive; other relevant qualifications/training and working towards a relevant qualification may be considered.

Salary £23,928.47 + £1.99 per hour uplift for OOH
