Studio Tech
This Studio Tech position is a split role! The main responsibility will be to maintain audio hardware and software systems, as well as sound studio support. The role will be functioning as an onsite resource for studio tech info, as well as checking, supporting and correcting any issues the sound staff may encounter. The ideal candidate is able to connect with our staff for troubleshooting and maintaining department systems and recording studios.
The secondary responsibilities will be assisting with sound effects library management and digital asset management, as well as audio editing, for sound design and dialogue.
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate with engineering staff to deploy and maintain audio systems and standards
- Maintain database for all hardware, software, in the department
- Research, analyse, and help to recommend system improvements across the department
- Install studio hardware and software (Mac & Windows)
- Collaborate with vendors, manufacturers, developers, engineers, and project managers to provide resolutions for audio systems and to provide support and maintenance of equipment and software to include plugin installs and maintenance.
- Provide oversight of the development, upgrade, and repair of audio systems at our locations.
- Provide technical support and training to audio staff.
- Work with procurement to acquire hardware and software for the team.
- Work with IT to support team needs.
Requirements:
- Proven track record (5 years) in an audio studio, live sound re-enforcement setting or studio integration team.
- In depth knowledge of sound studio equipment and systems.
- Understanding signal flow and recording studio system integration.
- Excel, Google docs, asset tracking experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with most modern DAWS (ProTools, Nuendo, Reaper, Ableton)
- Knowledge of signal flow for patch bays (audio, video & RJ45)
- Solid grasp of cable interconnect types and uses.
- Network audio experience (Dante, AES67, etc…)
- Soldering skills and audio cable integration is a plus.
- Customer Service/Client based experience.
