MI&Co is a very well-established quality portrait photography studio, based in Shipley. We provide a first-class family portrait experience, creating special memories at key stages of people’s lives, from babies to grandparents and often also including the pet! (usually dogs!), with finished framed portraits often adorning our client’s homes as treasured ‘wall art’ for generations to come.

Salary and Bonus Expectations:-
Minimum starting salary equivalent of between £20,000 to £23,000. Plus bonuses once trained. (Including bonuses the realsitic 'OTE' will be £22,100 to £25,100 once trained relative to skills and proven past experience) Salary may be negotiated for very experienced candidates wishing to transfer from other studios based on relevant skills and experience.
About the Role:-
Based at our amazing studio in Shipley this is an 'all rounder role' as being able to take a good picture on its own is not enough - We create a fun and memorable entertaining experience for our clients every single time. Every client is different as is their family , their taste, their decor and their budget - so this role requires a lot of skills from great photography potential - alongside excellent people skills, sales skills potential and a passion for always delivering first class customer service.
List of typical daily tasks (once trained) . .
- Taking creative quality portraits of a wide range of families and age groups from new-borns, babies to couple shoots, generation shoots and often also often including the family pet (mainly dogs!).
· Editing images in Adobe Photoshop and creating a presentation ready for customer viewings
· Viewing sales (selling high quality finished products and frames to customers to suit their individual home interior, taste and budgets). The best way to describe this is showcasing images in a slideshow then, discussing the clients needs, home decor, taste and budgets then personalising the products to suit them. It's a very personal service and this aspect of the role requires both 'sales skills potential' alongside quick thinking, negotiation and good taste in order to enthuse the best ideas to suit each customer. Our sales process is quality orientated - not pushy - but is target focused.
Other occasional tasks may include . .
.Quality checking of customer orders and frames.
.Potential to overlap in other areas of the business such as sales and marketing.
SKILLS AND PAST EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
· Outstanding people skills with excellent verbal communication, with the potential to be good at sales (with the right training by us).
· You need to be extremely good with people of all ages, but especially children.
· Past studio experience with a good understanding of studio flash and portrait lighting techniques.
· Good eye for detail and strong composition.
· A reasonable understanding of Adobe Photoshop with at least 3 years’ experience.
. Good negotiation skills and handling of maths and figures / Potential to be good at face to face product sales with the right training provided by us.
· Ability to work well under pressure in a fast paced environment.
· Confident, with an outgoing personality with a highly positive attitude.
· Exceptional customer service skills.
· Quick learner, able to take on feedback and drive own progression with our support.
· Team player who can also work independently.
· Must live locally (Leeds/Bradford/Aire Valley area) or within approx. 40 minutes commute to our studio.
Please note the photographer role typically requires a good level of fitness – as there is a lot of running around the studio in order to make kids laugh and get the best shots.
