The Role
The Store Manager is the local leader entrusted with driving company objectives in profit and loss control, sales performance, customer satisfaction and supporting employee development.

  • Lead painting sessions, focusing on clear and creative instruction, excellent painting execution, and delivering a memorable customer experience

  • Assist in painting sessions by engaging with customers, providing guidance, and offering necessary support to foster a positive experience

  • Oversee and actively participate in all kitchen operations, ensuring food safety and quality standards are consistently met

  • Drive sales and profitability through exceptional customer satisfaction and interaction, ensuring a positive customer experience

  • Collaborate effectively with the Regional Manager to support the creation of the store schedule, ensuring efficient staffing, and continuously monitor payroll

  • Ensure the day-to-day operation of the store runs smoothly and efficiently

  • Uphold visual standards by ensuring store appearance, cleanliness, and organization are maintained according to company guidelines

  • Collaborate with Human Resources and Regional Manager to support efforts in the recruitment, interviewing and training of employees

  • Provide feedback and training to promote the growth and development of in-store talent

  • Ensure painting quality and service standards are being met in accordance with company guidelines

  • In partnership with Regional Manager and Human Resources, support the delivery of appropriate counseling and disciplinary action to employees who do not meet performance standards

  • Ensure compliance pertaining to alcohol service, general safety, and cash handling procedures where applicable

  • Handle customer complaints promptly and professionally, using discretion to resolve issues effectively

  • Conduct weekly and monthly inventory counts and place supply orders with support from Operations Manager and Regional Manager

  • Utilize SFV to ensure facilities and maintenance needs are addressed promptly

  • Drive local marketing initiatives with the support and guidance of the Regional Manager

  • Provide ideas and suggestions to the Regional Manager for studio improvements, and take action to execute approved initiatives

  • Perform any other duties as assigned by the Regional Manager or corporate leadership

Required Skills/Abilities

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Excellent sales and customer service skills

  • Excellent math skills to draft and implement budgets and achieve sales goals

  • Excellent supervisory and leadership skills

  • Thorough understanding of the company's products and/or services, and those of immediate competitors in the surrounding market

  • Proficient with Google Workspace, Microsoft Office and Slack

  • Must have reliable transportation and valid driver license

  • Ability to travel as needed, up to 20% of each week

  • Ability to work nights and weekends, with a minimum of two Saturday's and two Sunday's per month

  • Ability to work full-time hours (35-40 hours) covering 70% of the weekly studio sessions

  • Flexible availability to adapt to changes and meet the needs of the business

Experience/Education

  • 2+ years of full-time management experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Art, Business, Marketing, Finance, or related field; OR experience in management required

  • Some formal training in the arts

  • Experience in teaching art, especially in groups

  • Experience working in a bar or restaurant

  • Alcohol Safety/TIPS certification (Muse will provide this training if needed)

  • ServSafe Manager Certification (Muse will provide this training if needed)


Physical Requirements

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer

  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time

  • Ability to lift, bend

  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times
