Job description
The Student Wellbeing Advisor is an integral role providing a key aspect of our pastoral care offering, working in close collaboration with the Faculty Senior Tutor, Senior Tutors, Programme Directors and other Student Wellbeing Advisors of the Business School in providing appropriate resources, training and development to support students’ wellbeing.
The role works closely with student representatives in developing peer support and in liaising with college support services in signposting students to appropriate health, support and counselling services.
Duties and responsibilities
You will be expected to lead on the provision of health and wellbeing resources, activities and training within the Business School, developing and leading workshops for both staff and students and managing and promoting wellbeing information.
You will work closely with student representatives in supporting their own initiatives and in identifying and implementing relevant changes to enhance health and wellbeing support.
You will provide effective short-term one-to-one support to students and ensure efficient and effective referral to college wide support services, attending relevant meetings and taking part in working groups where appropriate to help facilitate this.
In addition, you will manage and analyse data on effectiveness of all initiatives.
Essential requirements
We are looking for previous experience in the secondary or higher education sectors with a focus on student wellbeing, mentoring and support. You must have a Level 2 Certificate in Counselling or equivalent.
You should have experience of providing mentoring support to students in a professional context, a comprehensive awareness of safeguarding principles and data protection guidelines (GDPR) and proven experience of providing staff training.
