Optimum Student Support is a provider of individualised wrap-around support services to apprentices. Working in partnership with the apprentices, training providers, and employers, we offer a range of support services addressing every aspect of the apprentice’s learning journey.
We are supporting apprenticeship learners across the UK providing a person centred holistic support service from; assessment of learning needs, mental health and 1:1 study skills support.
The Role - Apprenticeship Support Coordinator
We are looking for a highly committed and experienced Apprenticeship Support Coordinator to join our dynamic team.
We would like to hear from an individual who can not only do the job but is also eager to learn about the company and understands our unique way of working. We value someone who has the ambition to understand the responsibilities and functions of all the roles within the company.
We anticipate that the successful candidate will have a background in student support, will be knowledgeable about ESFA apprenticeship funding rules/ NMH provision and Disable Student Allowance (DSA) regulations/procedures. Excellent interpersonal and IT skills are essential, including the ability to work effectively with student data sets.
This remote working role will include processing referrals, allocating them to assessors and support workers, liaising with universities, employers, and training providers. Your ability to plan and prioritise your workload is essential for this role and will be critical for ensuring smooth operations.
You will be the first point of contact for students and staff so first-class customer service and interpersonal skills are essential.
Your role will demand excellent communication and organisational skills and a keen attention to detail. A key expectation of the role is your ability to respond to referrals and queries swiftly, always providing superior customer service.
To qualify for this role, you should possess robust organisation and communication skills and have the ability to work both independently and collaboratively. A strong commitment to fostering inclusivity and diversity in the workplace is essential.
We require a University degree and at least three years of experience in HEI/FE student support/administrative role with knowledge of Disabled Student Allowance/ESFA Apprenticeship funding rules.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- University degree
- Minimum 3 years experience in admin role/student support role
- Knowledge of Disable Student Allowance/ESFA apprenticeship funding rule , NMH support provision
- Knowledge of a wide range of mental health and disability needs
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate and engage with colleagues and external practitioners
- Solid organizational and time management skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail, problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Experience in a similar role is essential.
