Student Support Assistant
Salary: Grade 7, Points 12-19 of the Meridian Trust Support pay scale. £24,496 – £27,852 full-time equivalent. Actual Salary £21,104 – £23,996
Hours of work: 37 hours per week, 39 weeks per year (Term Time plus 1 week)
We are now looking to appoint a Student Support Assistant within our Pastoral Team who shares our core values which are set out clearly in the job description. This post will be a wonderfully rewarding experience for the successful candidate as they will be joining a supportive team which is well resourced and be part of our wider Meridian Trust family.
The successful candidate will provide administrative and pastoral support to the house leadership and promote positive behaviour of all students.
The Opportunity

· Support the House Office with student attendance and punctuality
· Administrative support for the House Office
· Act as first point of call for all parental enquiries and complaints regarding the pastoral care of their children, maintaining a good relationship with parents
· Provide support for students along with the Assistant Principal, Senior Tutor, and Tutors in effectively implementing the behaviour management programmes for students
· Liaise with and provide student information for outside agencies
· Assess and provide basic medical assistance as required across the Academy
The ideal candidate
· Good educational background with excellent written and oral communication skills
· Experience of administration background, education and working with young people
· Able to make positive relationships with children, parents, staff and outside agencies
· Positive and enthusiastic approach with the ability to work within a team as well as on own initiative
· Knowledge of the need for confidentiality and awareness of child protection issues
· Flexibility of working hours, committed and reliable with excellent timekeeping
