The University has recently transformed the way it delivers student help and advice. The new provision focusses on delivering an outstanding student experience by delivering a range of services that students can access online or face to face across all campuses.
The Student Support Adviser role forms a key part of this exciting transformation. The role works with academic advisers and course leaders to deliver early interventions using a preventative and proactive approach to encourage early engagement and promote student wellbeing.
You will be involved in activities supporting pre-arrival, welcome week and extended induction, as well as delivering pastoral support and advice to students. This role also includes the management of student cases and acts as an escalation route to support students with complex needs who may be a cause for concern and require the support of our wider specialist services. As part of the role you will also be expected to support service projects, business as usual activities and other work which support the development of the team and associated processes.
You should have experience of providing advice and guidance in a student focussed environment, be able to work collaboratively to find solutions to problems and have the ability to handle complex queries. You will need to be able to think proactively whilst advising students in line with University policies and procedures.
