About The Role
Bell is recruiting a Student Services and Accommodation Assistant to join our Cambridge school. Bell is a world-renowned English Language school, University Foundation Programme provider and teacher training college that has been changing the lives of young people since 1955.
This is a varied role in a dynamic environment, working with young people from around the world. You will provide support to international students, helping them with their accommodation needs and other requirements to ensure they make the most of their time with us here in Cambridge. As well as learning many useful and transferable skills, the post holder will benefit from opportunities for career development and progression.
Please note this is a customer-facing role and therefore not suitable for working from home
Key responsibilities will include:
Accommodation
- Assist the Accommodation Officer in keeping residential availability up to date
- Respond to booking requests, taking into account availability, student age, gender, dietary and medical requests
- Place students into the accommodation requested (residential or homestay) for the dates specified
- Issue homestay confirmations to students and host families
- Arrange airport transfers for inbound and outbound students
- Liaise with host families and residential staff about all arrivals, departures, and delays
- Refer maintenance issues to the facilities team
- Welcome visitors
- Deal with enquires via telephone, email or face to face, communicating messages clearly and comprehensively
- Advise students on how to open UK bank accounts
- Provide information on local travel and facilities in Cambridge
- Assist with first day registration as required
- Issue student ID cards
- Record passport information check/record student visas
- Issue car park permits and maintain a suitable database
- Process incoming and outgoing post
- Help administer teacher training courses (CELTA)
- Produce student information handouts
