The Opportunity
This is a unique opportunity to find future talent that will enable us to grow as a business. You’ll join a multi award winning team, responsible for engaging, sourcing, and attracting the best and most diverse candidates to our school, work experience and graduate programmes across the UK.
You will focus on delivering a best-in-class assessment and selection process across a wider range of student pipelines and service lines, ensuring that EY hires high quality candidates and provides an exceptional experience to our candidates and internal stakeholders. You will have direct responsible to manage our third-party assessment provider and business stakeholders to challenge, review and develop EY’s graduate, apprentice and work experience assessment strategy.
Building out new assessments, leading on our enterprise-wide assessment centre strategy and delivering an exceptional candidate experience. This involves deep complexity, assessing thousands of candidates, ensuring the funnel optimisation through all recruitment stages to improve resourcing capability and reduce talent loss throughout the process. Put simply, you will ensure student pipelines are filled with diverse representative pipelines. You will focus on simplification, consolidation and alignment across service lines and job families/skills based future hiring. You’ll be a thought leader on all assessment practice across EY, linking academic performance, tenure and future hire success analysis to ensure we are assessing the right strengths and behaviours to achieve the highest quality outcomes for the business.
Skills and attributes for success
- Responsible for leading on EY’s recruitment assessment strategy from establishment of the end-to-end recruitment assessment and selection process across the whole business
- You will ensure the integrity of the EY student recruitment process and that assessments are:
- Rigorous, valid and fair

- Are consistent, and enable EY’s culture strengths and values
- Minimise diversity adverse impacts and future proofed
- Improving candidate experience so that all candidates learn something and have value exchange having been through the process with EY
- Actively shape and influence EY’s buying and building strategy on assessments, what do we do in-house, outsource?
- Challenge current assessment assumptions, future design and advice on best practice – from gamification to strengths to new assessment methods, you’ll be impacting key decisions on behalf of EY’s future provisioning
- Strategic review of end-to-end assessment provision and future proofing in consideration of wider market conditions, student behaviour and business drivers
- Passionately furthering equality, diversity and inclusion within EY by ensuring that we have the best recruitment practice across the competitive landscape
- Contribute to the development of the EY recruitment funnel, work force planning, advising on policies, processes and tools to help the business access the required capability to support future business challenges
- Leading on innovation of the assessment process to drive the most exceptional candidate experience to stand out from the crowd from all competitors
- Conducting in depth data analysis, interpreting and presenting this data for key internal stakeholders to gain buy in to wider change management and optimisation of assessment strategies
- Full process analysis of all assessment data and historic trends to ensure assessment
integrity, governance, diversity, validation studies against key problem statements
To qualify for the role you must have all or some of the following
You’ll have a background and record of achievement either in-house or in a business/organisation consulting assessment vendor background. This may be through operating as an occupational/business psychologist or, as a resourcing lead with significant expertise in the areas of: • assessment and selection.
- You will ideally be occupational/business psychologist.
- Significant experience of improving assessment and selection capability within an organisation across large scale delivery
- Experience of setting up and managing a process to listen to candidates and understand their experiences, and defining, monitoring, and improving corresponding metrics.
- Experience of creating/ amending people policies, processes, tools, and frameworks and gaining hiring community buy in to adopt new ways of working.
- Proven contribution to building true inclusivity in the workplace.
- Strong project management skills
- Strong excel skills with an ability to analyse and interpret data
- Thrives on working to high standards by exceeding targets and KPI’s in a fast-paced environment
Ideally, you’ll also have
- Deep understanding of student recruitment process design
- Thrives on researching and networking across the industry to be ahead of the curve on the latest approaches to student recruitment assessment and selection
- Proven ability to focus on continuous improvement and innovation
- Strong team player with positive personal impact
- MSc in Occupational/Organisational Psychology or equivalent
