The Real Estate team provides exposure to domestic and international real estate through direct holdings diversified across property types and geography. As the successful Intern, Real Estate you learn about the functions of a high performing team and will assist in delivering on their objectives. Playing an important role, you leverage your strong computer skills and support the real estate analytical team in the development and analysis of investment analytics. You will be involved in updating the real estate investment system, YARDI. You will also be coached and developed to gain a working knowledge of Canadian and Foreign Real Estate Investment Portfolios.
Responsibilities
- Developing a working knowledge of both Canadian and Foreign Real Estate investment portfolios
- Collaborating with the real estate analytical team in their investment analytics and financial analysis
- Contributing to the maintenance and accuracy of internal real estate management systems (YARDI)
- Creating Real Estate Investment charts/tables for Portfolio presentations
- Embraces accountability, enhanced decision making and integrity to deliver on our cultural commitment of Doing Business the Right Way
Ideal Candidate Qualifications
- Ideally enrolled in a Masters program in Management, Real Estate, Finance, Accounting, or another related field
- Previous internship experience in Real Estate, Investment Banking, Audit, or Consulting
- Excellent knowledge of finance, business concepts, programming, and accounting
- Strong research, analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Intermediate proficiency with MS Applications including VBA, Excel, PowerPoint, Word and Outlook
- Thrives under pressure and enjoys contributing to team goals and collaborating
- Demonstrates a strong commitment to AIMCo’s core values of excellence, transparency, humility, integrity, and collaboration, and inspires the same in others
First Year Success
Success at the end of your term will be determined by the undertaking and completion of specified daily tasks while collaborating alongside the analysts of the team, sharing your ideas, contributing to several ongoing projects, and assisting the department with implementing and improving process efficiencies.
