Student Placement - Radar Software Development and Test

We are reinforcing our team by offering a 12 Month Student Placement (£21,500 per year) at Blythe Valley Park, Solihull starting in September 2023.
The project is to improve radar hardware testing performance using an anechoic and specialist equipment. This work is at the forefront of development of new radar designs that will go into volume production within 2/3 years.
Your tasks:
- Develop scripts to test the radar in the chamber to evaluate compliance against electrical and performance specifications.
- Develop methods of automating the above testing and recording of results as well as perform testing on prototype radars, as required.
- Maintenance and improvement of Python based test GUI and embedded C test software for several projects.
- Perform Testing on prototype radar designs against test schedule.
- Update/ improve documentation / user guides and train team members.
Your profile:
- Student who has completed two years of a B. Eng or M. Eng degree in electronics or similar engineering subject, looking for a one-year placement.
- Essential technical skills required:
- Advanced Python and general Matlab development experience.
- Advanced Embedded C++ coding experience (incl. knowledge of FREERTOS).
- Basic mechanical & electronics practical competence.
- Desirable skills:
- Electronics circuit design knowledge.
- C# /.net programming experience.
- An enthusiastic approach to problem-solving.
- Excellent communication skills in English.
