Job description
My client, a prestigious student accommodation unit based in Bolton are looking to recruit a Student Liaison and Service Officer.
As Student Liaison and Service Officer, you’ll be the first point of contact for all existing and prospective students, responsible for assisting the Building Manager in the day-to-day running of the building.
Responsibilities include:
Lettings
- Assist with maximising occupancy throughout the academic year.
- Work with relevant team members/external contractors to ensure marketing material, including website and social media, is upto date.
- Respond and follow up on all enquiries.
- Arrange and conduct viewings of rooms, in person or through video tours.
- Build and maintain relationships with local colleges and universities.
- Attend university open days and housing fairs .
- Issue and countersign tenancy agreements on behalf of landlords.
- Keep up to date with competitor activities.
Customer Service
- Be the first point of contact for students.
- Assist with the check in and inventory process.
- Ensure students adhere to terms of tenancy and any internal policies/procedures.
- Respond to student queries and handle complaints that arise.
- Inform students of maintenance works and keep them informed.
- Help plan and organise student events throughout the academic year.
- Help to enhance the student experience within the building.
- Assist with the check out and deposit return process.
- Be vigilant of student welfare issues and offer advice or signpost where necessary.
- Build and maintain relationships with university/college support services.
Building Operations
- Carry out regulatory compliance tasks
- Supervise planned preventative maintenance tasks.
- Conduct room and kitchen inspections.
- Ensure health and safety guidelines, and any internal policies or procedures, are adhered to by students, visitors and contractors.
- Identify maintenance issues and report to relevant individuals.
- Assist with room turnarounds in between tenancies, including maintenance and cleaning.
- Build and maintain relationships with contractors and local authorities.
- Supervise the work of cleaning and security staff, and contractors
- Assist in supporting out of hours in the event of an emergency.
Essential Skills & Experience:
· Previous experience in a customer-facing role
· Competent in the use of Microsoft office products
· Excellent interpersonal skills
· Friendly and approachable
Desirable skills & experience:
· Valid driving licence / own transport
· First aid & fire marshall experience
· Previous lettings or facilities management experience
· Good understanding of university life
· Knowledge of health & safety requirements
· Competent in all social media platforms
Reporting to the Building Manager, this is a full time, permanent position. Hours of work: 9am – 5pm, Monday – Friday. Occasional weekend work may be required, especially during July - October.
