Student/Graduate Intern Researcher
Job description
Business
Are you a graduate or current student at the University of Cumbria who would like to gain valuable work experience through an internship with a local company?
You will be employed by the University to support Nu-Green with the development of a new range of interventional messaging to support effective waste management. This would be a particularly exciting role for someone with an interest or experience in cognitive psychology, behavioural change or recycling and waste management.
We are looking for someone who has excellent research skills to review an evidence base and undertake critical analysis of relevant behaviour models and theories in relation to pro-recycling behaviour, with the goal of developing a series of evidence based pro-recycling behavioural messages. Most of this work will be desk-based research and is an exciting opportunity to provide critical information to inform the future development of Nu-Green’s service offer. You should be a self-starter with strong oral and written communication skills and an interest in behavioural science/cognitive psychology/behaviour or waste management.
The post is part time for a total of up to 140 hours and the overall project is to be completed by the end of May 2023. This is a flexible working opportunity, which can fit around student studies and work/home life commitments.
- This role will involve remote working with very occasional travel to Carlisle or Kendal for meetings – COVID-19 restrictions may apply. Reasonable travel expenses will be paid and there is also the opportunity for the successful candidate to apply to the University of Cumbria’s Bright Futures fund for a travel bursary to help with travel expenses if required (£100 allowance available).
