Job description
Continuing education is currently one of the most exciting, prominent and fastest-changing fields in global higher education. The University of Cambridge Institute of Continuing Education (ICE) is an established leader in the field, tracing its roots back to 1873.
The Institute delivers high-quality and distinctive educational programmes for adult learners, predominantly studying on a part-time basis, for either personal enrichment or professional development. For many students, the Institute acts as an initial gateway to higher education and onward progression to further study. We aim to ensure that the expertise and resources of the University of Cambridge are made available to all students, irrespective of their previous educational achievements.
ICE has ambitious growth plans and student enrolment targets which involve the expansion of a permanent and centralised acquisition function designed to provide full-funnel support to prospective students at every stage across a variety of communications platforms and mechanisms, such as phone, email, text, live chat, video calls, and CRM.
To support the further establishment of this function we wish to appoint a Student Enrolment Assistant who will provide excellent customer service, and customised information, advise and guidance (IAG) to prospective students across a variety of topics, including eligibility, funding and the admissions process. As the first point of contact for adult learners across platforms and events, this role will provide dedicated support from the enquiry stage through to being an enrolled student and will look to actively convert prospective students at all points in the enrolment and admissions funnel.
The successful candidate will have experience working in a fast-paced customer or student-facing environment, have experience managing stakeholder relationships, and experience managing customer information or data using systems such as a Customer Relationship Management (CRM) platform or equivalent. Having experience working to deadlines, being self-motivated with an ability to independently problem solve, and having skills in relationship management and effective communication, are essential to being successful in this role.
This role is available on a hybrid basis with the flexibility to work remotely and in our offices in Madingley, Cambridge.
Full details about the role can be found in the Further Information document
