A Student Adviser plays a key role within Student Operations and Support at the University of Brighton, supporting our community of 18,000 students. The post holder will advise students about the range of financial support available covering all UK nations and will provide professional advice on developing effective and sustainable money management skills. You will be working as part of a dynamic and proactive team at different campuses across the University of Brighton footprint and have a flexible approach to effective teamwork.
Confidential person-centred advice will be delivered by email, over the phone and during in person appointments but you will also deliver talks and presentations to groups of prospective students at recruitment events, to new students during our extended Belong programme and other campaigns aimed at current students throughout the academic year. You will develop and maintain strong working links with colleagues across other departments in order to ensure we are reaching students in an positive and inclusive way.

This role requires exceptional attention to detail and a forensic approach to problem solving as you will be undertaking casework involving student finance and Benefits assessments.
This post is permanent and the hours are full time. There is an opportunity for some home working, but most of the work is campus based.
We welcome applications from job sharers.
