Your role as the Stress Engineer/Mechanical Integrity Engineer is to support the Design function by undertaking analysis of the proposed designs to ensure that they are robust and that they meet requirements. You will also make recommendations to optimise the design and applies Robust Engineering principles.

What you will be doing:
You will be conducting mechanical integrity and lifing assessments using finite-element analysis and other numerical models.
- Specify and conduct mechanical experiments, for the purpose of underwriting designs, and validating analytical or empirical models.
- Identify root-cause and resolve problems through evaluative judgements and analysis whilst delivering against programme milestones within agreed cost, timescale and quality requirements.
- Be a point of contact between the mechanical integrity discipline and other functions and customers and understand company business and function objectives and ensure that the work they do supports this.
- Always act in accordance with both the company values and those associated with being a professional engineer, including actively promote, encourage and support the identification and implementation of continuous improvement.

- Bachelor's degree or Master's in Engineering or regional equivalent qualification, or equivalent experience.
- Good technical knowledge in mechanical design methodologies and have an understanding of cross-discipline engineering concepts which include but are not limited to manufacturing engineering, aerodynamics, thermodynamics, thermal and mechanical analysis, cost engineering and product definition.
- An ability to apply logical, analytical and innovative thinking on a range of technical problems and make balanced strategies across technical and business parameters.
- Knowledge and experience of product integrity / liability and certification frameworks.
- Membership of a relevant professional body appropriate to region. In the UK - attained/ working towards Chartered status is preferred (and equivalent regional variations)
- Good communication and presentation skills at all levels of the organisation.
