The Competitor Analysis team shapes strategic thinking by identifying, monitoring, and evaluating trends in the Group’s external environment. What you’ll be doing:
Becoming an expert on the Group’s external environment
  • Advising on competitor developments: Offering insight and opinion to senior leadership on developments across the competitor landscape, from traditional peers to emerging challengers. This includes a variety of activities during quarterly financial reporting periods and coverage of market updates (e.g., investor days)
  • Strategic problem solving: Undertaking a number of projects where a view of the external market and competitive environment enhances Group decision making (e.g., returns benchmarking, valuation deep-dives).
  • Wider team interaction: Regular interaction and collaboration to share ideas and insights, as well as providing specialist knowledge to support wider team results (e.g. supporting Investor Relations with input into LBG quarterly reporting process)
  • Knowledge sharing: Improving Group knowledge on the external environment through active collaboration and regular presentations.

  • An interest in the external environment which the Group operates in
  • Organisational skills, demonstrating ability to manage multiple workstreams at the same time on an individual basis, as well as planning team deliverables
  • Curious and enthusiastic mindset – you are not expected to be an expert (or even close to one) when you join, but the role suits someone who is keen to learn and ask questions to develop as quickly as possible
Desirable skills:
  • Ability to communicating complex issues in a concise manner, both verbally and in writing
  • Stakeholder management at all levels
