About the Strategy Team

Impact has ambitious goals for growth and has strengthened the firm's strategic capability around the Founder and Chief Strategy Officer by setting up the Impact Strategy Team. The Strategy team is an extension of the executive team's arm with regards to strategic initiatives including:

• Strategy Development and Implementation - leading / supporting Impacts strategy development and implementing strategic projects in existing operations
• Strengthening Core Capabilities - having the operational responsibility for running and improving the semi-annual strategic planning process
• Structuring Innovation - having the operational responsibility for running and improving the structured innovation process - Impact Bets
• M&A - running the M&A program including identifying and acquiring targets and ensuring smooth post merger integrations after acquisitions
• Captive Consultants being called in as analytical task forces to identify and solve complex business problems throughout the organization

The Strategy Team at Impact plays a pivotal role in shaping the future of the partnerships industry. As a Strategy Associate, you will be solving significant strategic issues and working on complex strategy- and business development projects. Our previous associates have worked on industry-changing projects, setting new standards in the field.

When you join Impact, you are joining a firm that will challenge you and invest in your professional development. In this role you will work on strategic challenges to help a high growth tech organization solve our most difficult problems. You will typically work in teams consisting of strategy managers or experts from other departments, from Product, Sales, Marketing, Engineering, HR, Legal and Finance.

A key function of the Strategy Associate is gathering and analyzing information, formulating and testing hypotheses, and developing and communicating recommendations. You'll also have the opportunity to present results to management and implement recommendations in collaboration with team members.

You'll gain new skills and build on the strengths you bring to the firm. Strategy Associates receive great onboarding into the business as well as frequent check-ins and mentoring from colleagues on their team. This support includes unique direct contact with Per Pettersen, the CSO and core founder of Impact, who will help guide your career in your first two years as a Strategy Associate. Additionally, you'll receive guidance and support from our Onboarding program helping you to develop your skills and build your network.

We view the Strategy Associate position as the start of a rewarding, challenging, and highly flexible career with Impact. During your first few years with the firm, you will serve as a SA on multiple engagements and work hand in hand with our senior staff, some of the world's top minds in their respective fields, on cases that reshape the business and the industry. We encourage you to explore different content areas of Impact or geographies.

What you will be doing:

The strategy team is lean and all members contribute where necessary. However, Strategy Associates apply data science and analytics methods to real-world business situations, collaborating on challenging projects in inspiring teams, increasing your understanding of complex business problems from diverse perspectives. Key responsibilities include the following:

• Increase Impacts maturity by assessing, articulating and maintaining long term company strategy including zooming out for future scenarios, zooming in for current operations and cascading it down the organization incl. product strategy.
• Supporting in particular Bets
• Bring leverage to the executive team by extending their presence, bringing analytical capacity (strategic FP&A) and being a neutral third party observant
• Serving as a trusted advisor to the entire management of Impact.
• Apply data science and analytics methods to real-world business situations and provide recommendations to the business

Does this sound like you?

• Master's degree or have Undergraduate with 1 – 3 years of work experience after completing your undergraduate degree
• Outstanding record of academic achievement
• Proven record of leadership in a work setting and/or through extracurricular activities
• You truly thrive when complex tasks challenge you - exceptional problem-solving skills with the ability to untangle complex issues
• Strong logical reasoning and creative thinking skills
• Exceptional analytical and quantitative problem-solving skills and are able to convert analyses into actionable insights.
• Collaborative relationship builder with ability to work collaboratively in a distributed team environment
• Ability to work effectively with people at all levels in an organization
• Empathetic and a team player
• Ability to communicate complex ideas effectively – both verbally and in writing – in English.
• Willingness to travel and work flexibly with time zones
• Ability to take initiative and eager to break new ground, create opportunities for others, and take personal risks

• Experience from leading strategy consulting or investment banking companies is a plus
• Data Science, Python and SQL knowledge is a plus
