Job description
We are currently recruiting multiple graduate interns to join the Lancaster University Strategic Projects team. The team works closely with senior management to provide project and programme management to initiatives of significant scale and scope critical to delivering aspects of the University Strategy. Our small and friendly team plays a central role in the successful management of institutional change by providing a consistent framework for the planning, governance, and execution of initiatives.
These positions are open to those graduating in summer 2023, as well as those who have graduated previously. This represents a fantastic opportunity for those who wish to pursue a career in project management, change management, business analysis or related disciplines, as well as those looking for more generalist work experience.
You will perform a key role in the high profile, university wide Curriculum Transformation Programme (CTP), influencing the shape of the Lancaster University education offer for years to come. You will gain experience of working with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders, including senior executive officers. Initially, the primary aspect of the role will be working to map the current curriculum, creating a baseline to inform the implementation phase. There will also be opportunities to get involved in different aspects of the CTP, as well as other strategic projects and initiatives.
We are seeking graduates who can use initiative to work flexibly, both independently and as part of a team. You will develop your skills in the compilation and presentation of data as well as in building relationships with stakeholders at all levels. Full induction and training will be provided as part of the internship. You will also have access to comprehensive support and coaching to further develop and plan your career beyond the internship through our Careers and Employability Services team.
We are seeking multiple graduates and are happy to consider applications on a full-time or part-time basis. Please state your preference as well as when you would be available to start in your letter of application. The positions are offered on an indefinite basis but due to time limited project funding are currently scheduled to end on 31st January 2024.
Interviews will take place on Friday 16 June 2023.
The Strategic Projects team works in a flexible and agile manner. Due to the nature of the project, we envisage there will be periods when interns will need to be based on the Lancaster campus, such as during the initial training period and when engaging with stakeholders, though at other times working location is flexible.
Informal enquiries can be made to Emma Kidd, Project Manager at [email protected].
