We are looking for a Strategic Projects & Comms Manager to join our Executive Office on a Fixed Term basis.

The Strategic Projects & Comms Manager will bring in special project management and communications expertise for a 18 month fixed term, managing and facilitating strategic projects and communications in support of the CEO. This role will develop and execute strategies to drive forward key organisational objectives set by the Board of Trustees and in support of the CEO. The role will also focus on building advocacy and comms for the work of the Southbank Centre as well as key communication strategies for the CEO. This is a specialist senior role that will bring in change management and comms capability.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • A proven track record on strategic project management and managing corporate comms
  • Experience of working in an complex organisation and managing it through a period of change
  • Understanding of the UK arts sector and SC stakeholder networks
  • Excellent organisational and project management skills
  • Demonstrable capability in managing multiple projects concurrently and prioritising effectively with meticulous attention to detail
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to think creatively
  • Demonstrated ability to work under full discretion and maintain sensitivity , diplomacy and confidentiality
  • High degree of self-awareness and emotional intelligence
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the capability to build and sustain and positively influence relationships at all levels
  • Clear thinker with capability to draft thought pieces/editorial content
  • Capable of synthesising data/ facts/ news succinctly for internal and external consumption and across various internal/external channels
  • Is able to demonstrate an understanding of and commitment to the role that diversity and inclusion play in the activities of the Southbank Centre as a whole and in the work of this particular job

Southbank Centre

Southbank Centre is Europe’s largest arts centre and one of the UK’s top five visitor attractions, occupying an 11-acre site that sits in the midst of London’s most vibrant cultural quarter on the South Bank of the Thames. The site has an extraordinary creative and architectural history stretching back to the 1951 Festival of Britain.
